To mark World Environmental Labeling Day and the 20th anniversary of the Ukrainian Environmental Labeling Program, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the NGO “Zhiva Planeta” honored leading Ukrainian companies dedicated to the advancement and advocacy of sustainable production.

On October 12, PELLEGREEN was presented with an award for its unwavering commitment to environmental objectives and strict adherence to European environmental standards.

Throughout the event, the PELLEGREEN team had the opportunity to interact with colleagues from other socially responsible enterprises. This provided a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences, fostering lively discussions on the deepening of environmental awareness among Ukrainian businesses and society.

Particular emphasis was placed on eco-labeling as a catalyst for environmentally-friendly transformation. Widespread implementation of eco-labeling in Ukraine will not only enhance consumer awareness of products that are genuinely certified but also inspire other Ukrainian entrepreneurs to modernize their production processes in accordance with global standards. In turn, this will bolster the competitiveness of Ukrainian products in the international market.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our colleagues for their trust and support and pledge to persist in our efforts to promote eco-friendly products. We are confident that, together, we can forge a brighter future for Ukraine and the world.

Pferdwels, held annually in the picturesque Austrian town of Wels. This event serves as a platform to introduce the latest advancements and innovative approaches in horse care. Among the prominent participants was PELLEGREEN, a leading Ukrainian manufacturer of horse bedding. PELLEGREEN was represented by a partner company engaged in the global distribution of our products.

Visitors to the exhibition were offered an exposition of Ukrainian eco-friendly products. Notably, PELLEGREEN’s products garnered significant attention for their suitability, even for animals with heightened sensitivity to irritants. Moreover, industry experts evaluated  the products favorably, acknowledging their high quality.

During the exhibition, the PELLEGREEN team prioritized establishing valuable business connections with environmentally conscious manufacturers, as well as to exchange information and experience with foreign colleagues. PELLEGREEN also aimed to explorer new markets for the distribution of our products.

We are optimistic that the Pferdwels exhibition will give us a new push to expand domestic production and encourage collaboration with international colleagues.

PELLEGREEN tooks part in the international exhibition Expo for Decarbonised Industries 2022, held on September 20-22 in Dusseldorf, Germany. The exhibition was devoted to the global energy problems of our time and their overcoming, using alternative fuels, solar and wind energy, reducing the technogenic load on the environment. The decarbXpo Forum was also held on the basis of the exhibition, where special attention was paid to the topical issue – the energy dependence of European countries on Russia and the possibility of its reduction in the short term.

Pellegrin LLC, as a modern manufacturer of European quality fuel pellets, comes up with proposals to reduce energy dependence and switch to renewable energy resources. As a fuel, straw pellets have a high level of heat transfer. Due to the high density and a regular shape of the pellets, it is very convenient to implement automatic combustion control for economic efficiency.

By the way, PELLEGREEN is the only Ukrainian company that tooks part in this important and relevant exhibition. During the exhibition, Pellegrin LLC signed contracts with companies from Italy and Chile. We also received new contacts for establishing business relations with representatives of companies from such countries as France, China, Turkey, Romania, Switzerland, Finland, Italy, Estonia, India, the USA and Vietnam.

PELLEGREEN, as a responsible company, cares not only about the environment and reducing the technogenic load on it, but also helps Ukraine and other countries of the world become more energy independent by using alternative fuels!

In 2022, the process of procurement of raw materials at PELLEGREEN LLC takes place considering the circumstances in the country. Fortunately, the Vinnytsia region, where the company’s production facilities are located, was not bombed, and the fields were not mined, which is critical for agriculture. However, certain negative consequences still occur. Yaroslav Samaryk, director of PELLEGRIN LLC, talks about how the procurement will take place and what problems arise on this path, in connection with active military operations on the territory of Ukraine:

«Before the harvesting season, we enter contracts with large farmers for the purchase of straw from the fields. After wheat is threshed, mounds of the cut mass of cereal stalks are formed in the field. The raw material baling process is handled by our own and leased equipment (balers), which press straw into rectangular bales. The next step is transportation and proper storage to maintain the moisture content of 10-15%, which is required by the production technology. As with all farmers, the harvest season is the most important and everyone works full time. PELLEGRIN LLC always approaches the procurement process responsibly, especially this year. We have increased the number of equipment and workers for the most efficient straw collection. This, in turn, will make it possible to qualitatively prepare for the new production season and overcome today’s challenges with joint efforts.

However, the collection process is always accompanied by processes and factors that affect the results of the collection and which are difficult to predict, weather conditions or, for example, the state of war. Currently, we are experiencing certain difficulties with human resources and the availability of equipment. A lot of equipment remained in the occupied territories, and a significant number of drivers who worked on this equipment are serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, significant inflationary pressure is observed: the prices of diesel, logistics and materials of imported origin have increased significantly.

For quite a long time, the PELLEGRIN company has established itself as a high-quality manufacturer and reliable supplier of straw pellets as bedding for animals. A wide range of clients has been developed both in Ukraine and in Europe, which allows for the development of an export-oriented business. At the same time, we feel that autumn will be a rather difficult heating season (for both Ukraine and Europe), and we predict a significant demand for fuel pellets as an alternative source of energy. Despite this, we plan to procure almost 2 times more raw materials than in the previous year. This will happen mainly due to an increase around fields, as well as the number of equipment units that we will rent for the period of the harvesting season. »

PELLEGRIN LLC exports more than 70% of products, the rest is sold to national customers. At the same time, packaged pellets are very popular, especially in retail chains in Ukraine and in Germany, Poland, and other European countries.

Dear partners, we are pleased to announce that our company has successfully passed SGS certification, according to the standards of the KZR INiG System (KZR INiG System – Certifications (controlunion.com). It certifies that PELLEGREEN is a certified biofuel producer, in full compliance with the EU Directive on promoting the use of energy from renewable sources, and the company’s products comply with the rules and standards introduced on the international market. The PELLEGREEN company is the only certified manufacturer in Ukraine according to the KZR system.

СThe KRZ system is based on the requirements of the RED II Directive on renewable energy sources (2018/2001 / EU) of the European Parliament and the Council of the EU of December 11, 2018. Certificates issued under the KRZ System are recognized by other voluntary systems.

Fighting together for energy independence!

PELLEGRIN LLC is pleased to announce that despite the war and the hard times for all of us, the factory has not stopped its activities. Since the first day of the war, we have been producing pellets daily, selling them on the domestic market, and exported to European countries.

PELLEGREEN LLC continues its activities and prepares for the start of the 2022-2023 season. We are actively signing contracts for purchasing raw materials and updating and modernizing equipment. Starting from June 2022, we plan to launch the second production line, which will double the production volume – up to 5,000 tons per month. The company is considering the production and launch of new types of fuel pellets. We develop the economy of Ukraine, and together we come to victory!
